![]() ![]() Even if we did, there really seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the fields are organized and set up in the EMR itself. ![]() Except for the fact that we never measure height and weight, when you take blood pressure, the patient is usually sitting down, and we don't measure O2 sat or respiratory rate here. In this application, there are fields for:heightweightsitting bpstanding bplying bpsitting HRstanding HRlying HRtemperatureO2 sata box for notesNow that all seems great. It's one of the most poorly designed applications I've ever used, period. The fact is, many EHR vendors are trying to take a workflow that is paper-based and transfer it to the computer without really thinking about how their design integrates with the traditional workflow of a medical office. For example, I might take a full set of vitals on a patient, and I will have the laptop open next to me. It's actually not just the worst EHR I've used. I'm not a physician but we use an EHR at the mental health clinic I work at, and even though I type at ~90wpm, the EHR slows me and the clinicians down significantly. ![]()
